ILARIA SAGARIA

Ilaria Sagaria (Palomonte, 1989) is a photographer and visual artist from Campania.

His work starts from a careful study of the past to return a complex and stratified imagery of the inner world and feelings, with particular attention to social and psychological meanings. His poetics, intimate and visionary, is full of symbolism and artistic references, which unite past and present, generating unusual and unexpected visions.

Her works have been exhibited in art galleries and museums, both in Italy and abroad, receiving numerous awards and publications. In 2021 she exhibited with a solo show inside the Uffizi Galleries; where, by invitation, she returned in 2023 with a donation to the Museum of one of her works, destined for the permanent contemporary collection of self-portraits.

He has exhibited in international photography festivals, including: Sifest, Savignano sul Rubicone (2022); Photolux, Lucca (2023); Verzasca Foto Festival, Switzerland (2023); Budapest Photo Festival (2023); Photopolis Festival, Greece (2023); Format Festival, England (2024). He has won several awards, including the Sette Opere di Misericordia Prize (2015) organized by the Museo del Pio Monte della Misericordia in Naples; the Biennale dei Giovani Fotografi Italiani (2018); Portfolio Italia (2021), New Talent Prize (2023), Portfolio Prize organized by the European Photographic Festival (2024), being among the finalists of Passepartout Photo Prize (2023) and the Umane Tracce Prize (2024).

She worked as a photographer between Naples and Munich and currently as a photography and graphics teacher in Milan.
